BestCrypt Volume Encryption Review
BestCrypt Volume Encryption is the world’s first OS agnostic solution to protect disk volumes on both Windows and Mac computers, enabling you to easily transfer encrypted data between your office systems. It is also the only full disk encryption software that works at the file system level and doesn’t use backdoors, making it a stronger alternative to BitLocker, Apple FileVault 2 and VeraCrypt.
Encrypt and decrypt files with the click of a button. BestCrypt uses a virtual disk in your computer to store all the data. You can mount and detach volumes to the disk as needed, while the actual data is stored in containers that reside on your physical disks. These containers are password-protected and can only be opened with the correct password.
A variety of strong block cipher algorithms are available for the containers including AES, Serpent, Blowfish, Twofish, CAST-128, DES, CBC and LRW. BestCrypt also offers options to encrypt the containers with a higher key size for additional security.
For maximum protection, BestCrypt also offers pre-boot authentication – either password based or with a hardware token as a second factor. This ensures that even if the drive is pulled out and forensically examined, the data will be inaccessible. The software is designed to work with all types of fixed disks, striped and RAID-5 drives, as well as APFS and CoreStorage logical volumes. It is easy to use, transparent and compatible with your existing systems. BestCrypt also includes anti-keylogging facilities to prevent unauthorized access to your container and volume passwords.
